Shine thought it would be fun to hide from her cat atop a teetering stack of grimoires. Ruined a couple of their spines in the process, though. No wonder her countenance bespeaks of such grave regret.

Gleam's got an owl infestation and the RSPB agent that came round said she's not allowed to evict them, she just has to wait it out until they push off of their own accord.
However, they didn't say anything about not training them to pick the lint out of your unfeasibly long scarf.
Shimmer levitated her spell-book so high up she can barely reach it, but the cat still managed to be sitting on top of it right when she needs it. Back to the drawing board!
When your witchy powers extend to levitating objects, it doesn't matter if you left your geometry textbook floating on the ceiling: it's a simple matter to create a handy staircase to canter up and grab it.
Luna could have just levitated one book up there with her on it, of course, but where would be the showmanship in that?

Twinkle was just out for a nice walk when a rip in spacetime opened just above her head and out began to pour a billowing, fanged Eldritch terror bent on consuming all life in its path (or as we call it in Edinburgh, "Tuesday").
Well, Twinkle isn't having that. Quick as you like she levels her walking stick and rams it forcefully into the interdimensional cuttlefish's gaping maw. Back into the screaming void with you, y'rotter!
(Wait, no. I've just been informed it's her umbrella. Her billowing, fanged umbrella.)

Being a witch has its perks. Yes, the bailliffs took all of poor Beam's furniture away because she'd missed a payment on her enormous hat; but never fear! She'll be spared from sitting on cold linoleum thanks to her magical levitating broom, which she can park at a suitable height for comfortable seating.
Unfortunately, her cat Jim doesn't like cold floors either so hopped up astern to join her, which the broom's magical gyro-stabilisers are having a bit of trouble compensating for. Perhaps a magical firmware update will solve it?
